This is a week of many festivities in Santa Fe. The fun starts with the burning of Zozobra on Thursday night. Zozobra, featured on our save the date card, is a 'hideous but harmless fifty-foot bogeyman marionette,' who is burned every year to dispel hardships and negative energy. This will be the 84th year of Zozobra, and we recommend coming in early for the fun.
 
The weekend fun continues with more Fiesta activities on Friday and Saturday. Don't forget to check out the pet parade on Saturday morning to witness one of Andra's favorite parades of all time.

The main attraction of the monument is Frijoles Canyon, containing the (restored) ruins of a number of dwellings, kivas (ceremonial structures), rock paintings and petroglyphs. Some of the dwellings were rock structures built on the canyon floor; others were "cave dwellings."
